Angie Kelsey Has New Baby Boy

I had my baby on September 22. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 in.
long. My labor went much quicker than I had expected and by the time
I made it to the hospital I was dilated to an 8 so I wasn't able to
get an epidural like I had planned. Luckily things moved fast and I
ended up pushing for about an hour. I hurt sooooo bad though. We
named him Cole Jackson.

Emily and her little Brooklyn were staying the night at our house
when I went into labor, so she watched Xavier while we were at the
hospital.

Angie's News

Hey Everyone!
It has been so great to hear from all of you. I hope that you guys like this new way of doing a newsletter. Unfortunately for all of you that means the request for news never ends. I put all of you guys as authors (with Jaylynn's the master bloggers help) to this blog, so that means that you can update everyone anytime you want.

Time has seemed to fly by for several of you and it has for me as well. Rye and I celebrate our 10-yr anniversary this year. And like Teresa the big 30 loomed over me as well. I managed to survive it though. I'm still working about 4 days a week at the same office. One day a week I go to I.F. and work and the other three days are spent in Arco. Rye and I got to go to Mexico on a cruise a couple of years ago. It was way fun(especially without our kids)! It was the first time we both had been out of the states so it was a great experience. I unfortunately, do not travel well and had to have some kind of motion sickness patch on the whole time. But other then that great fun. And our kids didn't miss us until about four days in. Our baby Rafe wouldn't let us put him down for a couple of days. It was also the first time our kids went home from Grandma's without complaining.

Our oldest boy Brady (Age 6) had a lot of first this year. He went to kindergarten, learned how to ride his bike without training wheels, learned how to ride his motorbike without training wheels, piano lessons, and learned how to swim. He seems to keep himself busy with lots of activities, but always has time for his favorite (only) brother. He hasn't quite learned that girls are okay, so most of the time his sister is left trailing behind the two boys.

Kiya is four this year and she pretty much keeps us hopping all the time. She is all girl. We have drama 24/7 with her. I hate to say this, but it must be the girl in her. She is also taking piano lessons, but so far she just likes lessons. She told me that she doesn't like to do lessons at home. She likes her teacher better than me!Other then that it is dress-up, makeup, and anything else she can con us into.

Rafe is our baby and is completely spoiled. COMPLETELY! There is just something about him that melts our hearts. He rarely gets in trouble. He has a really loving and sweet personality, although I don't feel so loving towards him when he has poured water out on the bathroom floor for the umpteeth time. He is probably our most content kid. He is just as happy playing by himself as he is with others.

It sounds like everyone is doing great and I just want to encourage those of you who didn't make it in this newsletter to add something to this blog. It would be great to hear from you too! Also it is never to late to talk or think about a 10-Yr reunion. Who is interested? I hope all of you have a prosperous year!

Teresa's News

Hello there everyone! I hope everyone is having a great summer. I can’t believe it has been so long since we’ve graduated. A lot has gone on with me as I’m sure it has with you. I feel like I have been gone for two months straight. One of the trips I went on was to Chicago. We went and saw the play “Wicked” (I highly recommend it). A very busy spring means a calm summer to relax.
Tanner and I have 4 kids now, and we both turned 30 this year. How time flies. Jacquelyn is turned 6 in April, Haylee is 4 ½, Devin is 3 ½, and Cody is turning one in July.
Jacquelyn is is our 6 year old who acts like she is a teenager. She is a big help though. She learned to read in the past year and loves to read to her siblings. She loves to be involved in anything and everything. Last year she did soccer, T-ball, swimming lessons, dance, cheerleading, a neighborhood Tavaci group and piano lessons. Too much driving for me and now that the other kids want to start doing some of these things she’s going to have to cut back. We’ll see what she decides to do. Being in the public school now she is very much into all of the “in” things – right now it is Miley Cyrus.
Haylee is our happy go lucky little girl who is in her own little world. She loves to pretend, sing and dance. She wants to spell everything and asks us how to spell a word until she has it memorized. She always has a smile on her face and loves to laugh at her own jokes. She is not much into soccer or other sports right now. Picking the flowers and dancing in the middle of the grass was more her thing. She does love to run and can run almost a mile without stopping or complaining. She loves her Tavaci singing group and her little neighborhood dance class.
Devin is opposite to Haylee. He is our grumpy kid who can give quite the glare to anyone and everyone. He sure is funny though. He loves tools, trucks/cars, and playing ball the most, but he doesn’t mind playing dolls or house with his sisters. He is an organizer and everything has to be lined up or put in just a certain way or he gets upset. He is just getting over the terrible “3” stage. (It wasn’t two for him.)
Cody is the greatest little baby. He is a hoot. He is ALL boy and shoves anything that is girly or baby away. He wants the balls, the cars, or the sticks (drum sticks especially). He can sit and play on the drums for 20 minutes at a time a few times a day and is as content as can be. He has been walking since he was 9 ½ months – but only indoors and only on the carpet. Once he goes away from those spots he clings to your hand and is content to just do that. He is starting to tease, he loves to wrestle with Devin, he points to things he wants and gets upset if he doesn’t get it.
It seems that I have been pregnant or nursing for the last 7 years and I’m glad to be done. I’ve tried to keep up with the running, but had a hard time up until this summer to get back into shape. I’ve recently run a half marathon in Rexburg I’m also training to do a half triathlon. After working for Dr. Akers for 5 years full time it was time to go to part time. I needed to spend more time with my kids. So, for the past two years I’ve been working part time at Dr. Reddish and Godfrey’s office and have enjoyed working with Jennifer. It is so much different than perio though. I get very excited when there is a lot of perio scheduled in my day. I recently got out of braces – it was horrible being in them. It was supposed to be for 9 months but ended up being 18 and that was way too long. Many people got me and my sister, who is 15, mixed up because we both had them on and look alike.
We are still in the same house and have just kept remodeling and updating every chance we have. It seems that we always have projects going on around the house that Tanner stays busy with. The most recent was building a shed in the back yard, cutting down two huge pine trees from our front yard, and putting siding up.
After graduating in Accounting and Finance, Tanner tried to find the perfect job setting up medical office, selling employee benefit programs, selling health insurance, and doing taxes. He did that for almost 2 years and then we came across a garage door company who was trying to sell so we bought it. Now he has found out what he likes to do – He gets to work with his hands to fix and build things and be an accountant. He hasn’t let go of doing taxes for people and April gets a little hectic, but then his later Spring early summer months are slow and he can spend his weekends playing with his “big boy toys”.
We bought a boat this summer. The kids love the rides in the boat and are liking tubing more and more each time they go.
We have had some great vacations in the past few years. Our annual trip to Redfish is always great fun, but our most recent one was going to Zion’s National Park and Lake Powell. We spent a few days camping out on the beach at Powell. We enjoyed the scenery, the skiing, and Tanner fell in love with the surf board. The water rose 10” everyday so we had to clear beach and move our camp site up every day. We stayed at a resort in Zion’s for a week. We enjoyed the activities they had there such as paint ball, swimming pools, basketball, and a lot of four wheeler rides. We drove into Zion’s Park a couple of times to hike. The hikes are amazing. We hiked one called Angel’s Landing. The last half of a mile was strenuous, but well worth it when we made it up top. The climb had parts with an 800 ft drop off on one side of you and a 1200 ft drop off on the other side of you. The buses and cars looked so small. It was awesome. (I highly recommend this as well.)
Well, I’ve had a good time typing this up and can’t wait to hear how everyone is doing. Hope all is well for everyone. Teresa

Mary's News

Sorry it's taken me forever to write.

I ran into Emily Harris at an out-door volleyball tourney and it was SO good to see her. She looks fantastic and she actually talked me into sending in my news for the newsletter. Seeing her made me realize how much I miss seeing everyone and how interested I am in hearing how everyone is doing. I’ve loved getting e-mails from Denise and Amber and seeing pictures of your beautiful families. Thank you guys! Wow! I can't believe it's been 7 years. I don't even know where we left off from the last news letter.
I got married three years ago to an awesome guy I happened to know almost all of my life; one of my best friends' younger brother, Chad. He's a comedian (in his own mind ha ha) and we have a blast together. He's actually in marketing and he golf’s and eats lunch for a living. I'm busier than ever. I can't imagine throwing a couple of kids in the mix (yet)! It may actually slow us down, which would be great. I’m still working full time. I’ve started graduate school at BSU getting a master's in Health Science. It is basically a broad Public Health degree. It has been fun yet frustrating brushing the cob webs off of my brain. I wanted to get my master’s before we have kids knowing I would not get it done when we do have them, so better get to it. This will be my last free summer so we are enjoying it. We play every sport known to man (just kidding but almost) and every week we’ve got games or tournaments and weekends we either go out of town fishing, visiting friends and family, weddings, bbq’s, or just playing around.
I’ve done a lot of traveling since graduation which was one of the things I wanted to do. I’ve made it to almost everywhere I want to go outside of the US. Still have a couple more places I’d like to visit. I ran my first marathon in Phoenix last year; the Rock n Roll marathon. It was amazing, but I don’t think my knees are cut out for running distance. It was fun but I’ll stick with the smaller stuff. I give Kudos to Teresa who could probably run a marathon in her sleep! Amazing woman!
I got to see Meg Long in February this year. She did a class on oral cancer and screenings at the Boise ISU campus for the physician assistant program. She asked me to help out and get a little experience with teaching/instructing. Not that I’m going that route, mind you, because I really sucked at it, but it was a great experience. She is still an awesome instructor and the students respond so well to her. It was nice to see her; brought back memories of a little piece of heaven….ha.

Anyway, I suppose this entry is long enough. Can’t wait to hear from everyone else. I get to hear from Heidi which is such a treat but I have not seen her since we’ve graduated. (One day I will pop up at your door step girl!)
So, I will try to include pictures but that is not a guarantee. Still illiterate on the computer; school is helping a bit with that, thank goodness. Take care everyone.

Love,

Mary Campbell Smith

Talisha's News

Hi Everyone!
I am the slacker getting this in last minute but I did want to let you know how I am! I am great - life is good and very busy! Working 2-3 days a week in two different offices gives me a good variety of patients and experiences. I also am contracting with the state to do fluoride varnish clinics, and promoting and selling xylitol products. I am active in the ADHA and enjoy seeing some of you at conventions.
I am loving being a mom more than anything else. My family is amazing and they definitely keep me on my toes. I have been searching for a family photo to send and realized I have none with all of us in it. So - Seth is almost 8, loves to build and invent things, read Harry Potter, play sports, do science projects, and ride his bike. Emilee is 4 going on 24 and is very imaginative. She loves dress up, ponies, reading princess stories and making up her own stories. Alyse is 2 and holds her own with her siblings. She is very full of energy-like any 2 year old - and loves to do whatever she can to get attention! I have dance lessons in the living room many times a week with my girls- I am considering teaching again if I can find a place to do it.
Rich and I like to run, and sometimes we run away and leave the kids with Grandma. We enjoy riding motorcycles, hiking, snow-skiing, and just about anything that involves our family. We play with our kids a ton - we figure if we wear them out before they wear us out all is well. We have also been doing house projects and planning some summer trips, but with the price of gas, we are staying close to home.
Well - I hope you are all well and happy! I miss seeing you all and hope our paths cross again soon! I must be going as I need to pack for a week full of girls camp! Lots of love - Talisha

Hello everyone!
Wow...I can't wait to catch up with all of you. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life. As most of you know, Nate and I moved back to Reno as soon as we graduated, and we are still here. It is wonderful to be close to family, as mine lives here, and Nate's family lives in a community about an hour away. I am very happy to say hygiene is not the main focus in my life right now...I still love it, and am very thankful we have such a flexible and family-friendly profession. I still work for the same group of doctors that I did when we first came home. I worked full time (4 days) until two years ago when our first son Jacob was born. He is such a joy and keeps us laughing all the time! He amazes us everyday with his sweet personality and great sense of humor. I went back to work two days a week, and we were lucky enough to have my parents watch Jake. Our second son was born on March 6, 2008. Wade is such a gentle little spirit. He just started smiling a ton, and cooing all the time. It has been fun to watch the boys really starting to interact. I am so bummed that my maternity leave is quickly coming to an end. I am supposed to go back in the middle of June. Nate and I are still trying to adjust to keeping up with an energetic two year old, and the sleepless nights with a newborn. I love it though, I wouldn't change it for the world! I'm chicken-pecking this email with one hand, and holding the baby in the other. I'm getting good doing all sorts of things with one hand:)

When I was talking to Angie, she mentioned our class video.......I am embarresed to tell you it is packed in a box somewhere in my garage and I need to find it. Eventually, hopefully before we all retire, I will get it to you. Sorry!

Darrin- Nate and I went to Nebraska last year to visit my cousin, who's husband will graduate next year from Creighton's dental school. Anyway, he was showing us around, and I found your picture on the wall of graduate's. Congratulations! We had a lot of fun while we were there.

Well, it is getting late here, and I treasure any bit of sleep I can get right now. I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy. If anyone is headed in this direction, or even passing through, we would love to see and hear from you. Our doors are always open to you. Here is all of my information to get in touch with me. I'm not great with email, but I'm trying to get better.

Hope to hear from everyone soon...Lots of Love! Kim

Hello Ang and Everyone,

I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. It has been so long since our graduation, I am sure everyone's lives have changed so much. Our family has had some big changes just this past year. After spending 6 years in the Portland area we have moved back to Idaho and bought a house in Twin Falls. It was a little depressing moving back at first, but it has really been nice to live by family and old friends. Nick is an Optometrist here in Twin Falls and it has been so nice to have a working husband who doesn't have the pressures of school. We just adopted our baby boy who we named Xavier James. He was born on February 13 and we got to bring him home on Valentines Day. We have had a few bumps with his adoption case but things have been worked out and we officially seal the adoption on May 7th. We are so happy, he has been such a joy to us. Just before we adopted Xavier I found out that I was pregnant. We are expecting our second baby in mid-September. We couldn't be more happy. Our little babies will only be about 7 months apart so it may be a bit of a challenge, but we have been waiting to be parents for a long time, I guess we are just trying to catch up. I haven't been working much as a hygienist since I have moved back from Oregon. I worked a few months for Jaylynn's dad and brother before Christmas and it was fun to get to see her occasionally. I hope to do some fill in work this summer before the next baby comes, but it is hard imagining going back to work and leaving my baby (even though his grandma will be watching him it still seems hard). I think I have rambled on enough about my life. I love you all and feel so lucky I was able to go thorough hygiene school with such fantastic people. I can't wait to hear from you. Thanks for doing this Angie!

Best Wishes,

Angie Lancaster Kelsey

Okay, I have procrastinated enough, I think my moto should be "If it weren't for the last minute I wouldn't get anything done!" We have been so busy lately, but in a good way with kids sports and family projects and new businesses, it's kept us on our toes. We still have the Car Dealership, and we just started three new businsesses ~ Snake River Rubber Mulch -which is recycled colored rubber for playgrounds and for landscaping, and we own a local mechanic shop, and we now own a DVD Kiosk business(which is like Redbox) at local grocery stores here, it pretty much runs itself. So we have been busy, mostly with the rubber mulch. I am also working doing Hygiene one day a week. It's been good to keep up my skills and to be able to use my paycheck for our "fun money". Isn't it great the one day a week for a month can pay for our trip to Hawaii this October! Our boy Aldon is 4 yrs old and just got done with Spring Soccer and starts Teeball next month, and our daughter Adilynn will be 1 on June 7th! I can't believe how fast time has flown. We love to do a lot of camping and traveling. If anyone is interested, we are thinking of going to Bear Lake for the Fourth of July and we'll have a boat, we're planning on going with any Friends that want to come, so you are all welcome to come, the more the better! We are on Facebook, we also have a family Blog markandjaylynn.blogspot.com that I update at least once a week with pictures and what we are up to, I love blogging, and for those of you that don't have one, you should get one and start doing it because it is so much fun and a great way to keep in touch with friends and family! Call us if any of you are going to be in the area, we'd love to have you stop by or play with us. It's so great to have a lot of you close by and to keep in touch with everyone! Thanks Angie for doing this!!!

Let see as far as our news goes--we moved to Oregon for two years so that my husband could attend a private art academy in Ashland, Oregon. In November, we returned to Idaho. My husband has a job in Twin, and I am currently looking for a job there. We are also looking for a house in the Twin area. Our daughter, Ellie, turned four March 1st, and our son, Carter, was born January 28th. I guess that's about it for now; if you think of anything else you want to know, let me know. I included a few pictures!

Take care,

Here's my scoop. So I had my first little bambino in December. Her name is Brooklyn and she is so precious. It's been really nice to be at home for a bit and NOT work. I was working 4 days a week and every other fri. and sat. 1/2 days so needless to say I was getting way burnt out. Now I am just working 2 days a week. I live in Boise and my hubby works for Ameriprise Financial. We like it here but we are 4-5 hours away from family so that stinks. I ran into Talisha at the DH covention here in Boise last year. I see rach, angi, and jill every once in awhile. I've bumped into Amber now and then but that's it. It would be great to see everyone. A reunion sounds fun. Take Care. Can't wait to hear what you are all up to. Love, Emily

____________________________________________________________________________________ Hello everybody, I am so glad that Angie is doing this. I have been thinking about a lot of you and am excited to hear from you. We have made a big move since I last wrote. We now live in Salt Lake City, Utah. We actually are living in Taylorsville for the time being. My husbands parents are on a mission in South Africa, so we are staying in their home here until they return. We really loved Cedar City, but have been trying to get a little closer to my family. We have really loved it here so far. There is so much to do and we have seen more family than we ever did in Cedar. I have three kids now. Isaac is 6 years old and is in Kindergarten. Ella is three and Caleb is 15 months. Three has been a whole new world for me. I feel really busy now and sometimes it is hard to give each one the attention they want. My kids are wonderful though and have great personalities. Ella is my easiest, and wants to please. Isaac is so smart and a real tease, and Caleb is really loud so he can be heard over the other two. I feel really blessed they are mine. I am working a little. I work one day a week for Dr. Brandon Robinson in South Jordan. I really enjoy that one day! It is a great break from my kids and I love talking with adults for a day. He is a young dentist and is just getting the hygiene department going. This is the first job where I had a few demands before I started. I knew what I wanted to get paid and I knew what tools and instruments I needed him to order if he wanted me to work there. He said he wanted me to set up the hygiene program to where it needs to be. The challenge is when you work only one day a week, you are changing things that the other hygienist may not want changed. The other hygienist is a newer hygienist, but seems very nice. I think it is a little hard for her though. The more I do hygiene, the more I realize the importance of doing all the things I learned in school even though sometimes it may seem overkill. I have ordered Arrestin for the office and have started to use that on every 5 or 6mm pocket that the pt will let me. I have seen great results. It is fun to see all the new products and options we have out there. My next goal is to get him to get Oraquix. I used that in my last office, AWESOME!! I will never regret going to school for this profession. It has been really rewarding for me and so great that I can work just one day. I look forward to going to work and by the end of the day am glad that I don't have to go back the next day. Adam is a prosecutor for West Jordan City. He likes his job fairly well. It is sometimes hard to deal with the negative things he has too, but it is great for now. He is such a great husband. Seriously I won the lottery with him. We are trying to sell a home in Cedar City still. That has been really hard with the market, but we are hoping to have it done before his parents come home, so we can buy a home here. I think Salt Lake will be our home for long term. I love that I am a little closer to home. I don't have a blog yet, but I have some pictures on FaceBook if you want to check that out. I will attach a couple so you can see our family. The last one is of Caleb. He poured a bowl of pudding on his head. Just a typical day. I would love to get together and see all of you. I consider you all my close friends. There are only those who suffered with me that really understand what I went through in school. It is a bond we will always have. Hopefully I will see you soon. Love, Denise Christian

Hello Everyone
I am not sure how long it has been since we have done one of these so if you have heard any of this before you get it all again. Rob and I still live in Meridian and love it. Rob works at Micron as an Mechanical Engineer and I am at the same office I started at out of school. I work about 6 days a month, but I will probably go to 4 days a month in the Fall. The kids are growing like weeds and I love every minute of it. Alayna will be 9 this summer and it went by so quickly. She is an easy going quiet child, but a perfect little mother to her siblings. Brecklyn just turned 6 and is anything but quiet. She is nearly as tall as her sister and acts just as old if not older. She is in kindergarten this year but if they would have let us we would have started her in 1st grade. Crayton is 3 1/2 and is all boy. He already knows what buttons to push to get a rise out of his sisters. He has an articulation problem and loves going to speech therapy, and we are just getting to a point where we are beginning to understand most of what he is saying. Thank goodness! Dawson just turned 1 and is a pure delight. He is a laid back content kid and like Brecklyn he is tall for his age. It makes sense both he and she weighed over 9 and 1/2 lbs at birth and were 22 and 23 inches long. Kids keep life interesting and I love how unique they all are. Life seems to keep us busy. Rob works with the scouts at church and there couldn't be a better fit for him. I work with the Young women and I am in the middle of planning girls camp. All I have to say is I am glad I am not a teenage girl again. It amazes me how fast time seems to go by. It feels like yesterday we were all at school and then again it feels like a lifetime ago. I don't how many of you are in the Boise area, but I love to talk work. I know we have a horrible surplus of Hygienist in the area. The school up here is graduating a class of 30 about every 3 months. Work is not easy to come by from what I hear. I have to say my limited experience with the few local grads I have worked with has not been all that impressive. I guess I have turned into a hygiene snob, but I hate to see sub standard care, and unfortunately my employer doesn't really care. How are the areas you all work in? Is anyone planning on going to the Annual Session this year? I would love to get together with any of you that get over this way. I hope that you are all doing well. Take care!

Hello friends!
Boy how time flies. Life is good in Spokane, WA with the Rich family. Inland Northwest winter was dreary this year but spring is upon us. Holly, Olivia 6, Owen 3, Mallory 1.5, and myself have been living near the eastern outskirts of Spokane for two years. I have been practicing dentistry in Post Falls, ID (about a 15 minute drive) during that time. I see a lot of Perio, EXT, and RCT. The office is open 7 days a week and late hours. I work 4 days a week and have some Saturday action. I am always off on Sunday, but the late hours are taxing.

Currently I am making efforts to start my own dental practice here in Spokane. It is a difficult and stressful experience that I hope will be fruitful. I am excited about the future a new business will afford us. Dentistry is a wonderful field. I am grateful for the opprotunities that I have been given.

I saw Michelle Rahmig at the Dental Arts Building while I was down for an IDEP reunion and CE course in Pokey. It was like I never had left. I visited with Carlene, Carol, Tara, and Linda. Although I don't know that I would go back and do it again, I have some fond memories of the 'Good Times' we had.

As for the homefront, we enjoy fun outings with friends, church, visiting family, dance classes, soccer, and diapers. This summer promises warm weather, lake time, bike riding, and lawn mowing. I welcome any and all correspondence from ya'll.

Hello all- I can't remember if I wrote or not so I will drop another line. I will be opening my own dental practice in Spokane, WA. We hope to be seeing patients in July. We are excited and look forward to good times. The kids are growing. Olivia just turned 7, Owen will be 4 in July, and Mallory will be 2 in September. Summer is upon us and we hope to get some boating in even with all the busy plans with the business. Always nice to hear from everybody.Darrin

Hey Guys, I hope this finds everyone well. Things are pretty much the same for the time being with me. I am still working with Dr. Moon here in Boise and still have my home here in Meridian. In getting the 7 yr itch, i have put my resume out there to have a possible change. I actually have been offered a dental clinic management job with a great salary and benefits but it is located in the Bay area of California. I have to weigh my options and see if that is something that i want to do for the time being.Other than that, I am staying very busy with the outdoors. I have my own raft and love the whitewater that this side of the state has to offer. I am still flying but with rising costs of gas, it is becoming difficult to do it as much as i would like to. :) Mtn biking, camping, hiking, fishing etc etc etc always occupy my time in the summer. But i think you guys all know that. Probably my biggest adventure/trip since we have last spoken was a trip to Norway and Scotland. A little over a year ago now, but it was just fantastic. Also i had the opporutnity to see Mary the other day at a skeet shooting range outside of Boise here and it was great to catch up with her. She also said she is getting the 7 yr itch thing and is currently back at school getting her Masters in a health related field. Way to go Mary!!!!Take care guys...love ya,JIM
